Fall is by far the most popular time for family photos, but you’re missing out on so much fun if you’ve never had Summer family photos taken!
I have endless pictures of my own kids playing at the pools, creeks, and Tuttle Creek Lake.
I absolutely LOVE water pictures!
They are so dynamic. The motion of water brings every image to life and never fails to result in pure joy.
I’ll share some more pictures of my kiddos (and even some pictures including me!) at the end of this post. But, now I want to show off some of the fun we’ve had making unforgettable memories with Summer family photos around town.
One of my favorite places for summer family photos is the beautiful gardens at Kansas State University. The large fountain has been turned off for the last few years. But, the small fountain is still such a great spot for fun and gorgeous pictures!

With a little extra planning, we can create some fantastic pictures using water squirters, a hose, or some buckets of water. SPLOOSH!
Want something a little more natural? Wildcat Park has lots of great backdrops for your family photos. The creek is one of my very favorite places to take families, especially when it is warm enough to play!
Tuttle Creek Outlet Park is another great spot to splash around.
I certainly won’t complain if you want a Summer session AND your annual Fall photos, but there is no reason we can’t get you those perfect family portraits before cooling off. This is what Summer is all about!
