The Washington Marlatt Memorial Park is like a miniature Konza Prairie and still plenty big! There are several wonderful trails through fields of tallgrasses and beautiful views from up on Top of the World Drive. This has always been one of my favorite locations for family photos in Manhattan, KS. But, this past Fall when the weather was all over the place and we never got wide-spread fall colors, that insanely beautiful golden light shining through the tallgrasses was just the magic we needed.
This is one of the best places in Manhattan to catch the sunrise and sunset and also my favorite place to go watch a storm roll in. You won’t be alone if you park on Top of the World Drive during a lightning storm. It’s phenomenal! I’ll have to put together a blog post with some of my best lightning pictures at some point.
But for now, let me share some of my favorite family pictures from Marlatt Park and Top of the World Drive!
Washington Marlatt Park certainly has its charm, but if you are looking for flowers in the Spring or more colorful trees in the Fall, go check out nearby CiCo Park!
