Every year, members only BirthPhotographers.com puts on this fantastic contest that features the very best birth photos taken during the previous calendar year. The contest has grown each year to not only have more amazing entries, but more support, exposure, and an impressive panel of judges. It is such an incredible organization and I love being part of the contest!
Despite only taking on 5 births this past year, I still had a ridiculously hard time choosing which images to submit.
I was allowed to submit up to 5 images for this contest.
Here they are with titles and descriptions linked to the full birth story!
“Nurse Linda”
This is part of the viral delivery series from the Birth of Max on July 24, 2017.
Baby Max was born roughly 3 minutes after his parents drove up to the ER entrance!
This image ended up winning an honorable mention in the 2017 IAPBP contest, which was a huge honor!
“…so she did!”
Baby Caroline arrived February 10, 2017 into the arms of her amazing mama. One more push, Mama!
“She believed she could, so she did!”
“Meet Your Daughter”
Caroline’s Daddy was on the other side of the world serving in the U.S. Army when she was born, but thanks to technology, he got to witness her whole birth and be right there with Mommy for those first sweet moments.
“Baby Whisperer”
Manhattan, KS, Midwife, Rachel Andresen, worked days on end to help welcome baby Torin Earth-side.My hope is that after a devastating repeat c-section, the images of her determination have brought healing to this amazing mother who just wouldn’t give up!
“First Latch”
Baby Karsyn had a tiring afternoon when her mommy experienced a super fast labor, but there was no frenzy during these sweet moments of bonding as she tried outher nursing skills and snuggled close to Mama.
Here are the two runner-ups from last year’s births that I had a really difficult time cutting!
