There is this incredible couple of weeks in April each year when the flowering trees take my breath away. I’ve always experienced a mad rush for families to book Fall sessions and honestly, I’m surprised that the same thing doesn’t happen in the Spring. From the grays and browns of Winter to this sudden burst of brilliant color, these flowering backdrops are nothing short of magical.
One of my very favorite spots in Manhattan for pictures in the Spring is CiCo Park. The redbuds and dogwood trees are gorgeous, but you’ll need to be careful not to get any buildings, cars, or wires in the backdrop of your pictures. Like in the Fall, the most colorful trees tend to be at the more popular parks around town. So, in addition to those other background distractions, it tends to be more difficult to avoid other people, as well.
I personally prefer the beauty of Spring flowers to the Fall leaves. Let’s capture some of these amazing colors in your next family session!
