This is one of my favorite locations to take clients when we need to schedule a session outside of the optimal times of day for lighting. There is abundant shade and a variety of beautiful backdrops no matter what time we are immortalizing those giggles.
This park is a great place for back-to-back mini sessions. I can always find great shade, which allows me to start sessions earlier in the afternoon when the sun is otherwise too high in the sky for great lighting.
This park isn’t actually in the State Park, which charges an entrance fee. This outlet park is West of the State Park and accessible from Tuttle Creek Blvd. There is a beautiful field, easy access to the creek, and a wonderful playground surrounded by beautiful scenery.
Some of the challenges that I’ve faced at Tuttle Creek Outlet Park are people on the relatively new frisbee golf course, people fishing, younger kiddos being distracted by the easily visible playground, and several times, I’ve had to work around tree limbs that were trimmed, but not cleaned up.
It’s beautiful during the Fall, but once the leaves have fallen, it’s a pretty dull and gloomy landscape.
