The Little Apple’s favorite pet store, Sunflower Pet, moved into their new location at 3236 Kimball Avenue and officially opened their doors on December 29, 2024. On June 4, 2025, Manhattan’s first Cat Cafe opened as the purrfect place to foster kitties for Cattails.

Store owner, Mike Bonella, brought his passion for cooking and baking to the new location. You can purchase delicious treats to feed the adoptable feline friends while indulging in some pretty fantastic human foods and beverages!

As of the start of 2026, this Manhattan, KS Cat Cafe has found homes for 56 cats.

While visiting the Cat Cafe, make sure to reserve time to explore the Fish Room and pick up everything you need for your own pets.

Sunflower Pet specializes in top of the line natural cat and dog foods. They also provide grooming and a self-serve dog wash by appointment.

Say hello to the permanent store residents, Gilligan and Ginger, two of the sweetest kitties you’ll meet! Please call ahead if you’d like to bring your pup with you to Sunflower Pet. These fluffy felines like to be put safely away.

I volunteered for the Riley County Humane Society as their photographer for six years. Yesterday, I met Cattails founder, Natalie Young, to finalize my own kitten adoption. I’ve decided to donate my photography services to help get more of these sweet cats adopted. So, you can expect plenty more cat pictures this year starting with my newest family member, Siayti!
