Mini sessions are 30 minutes of what may look like pure insanity to you,
but I’m seeing and capturing the briefest moments of perfection.
Parents will often request a mini session because they don’t think there is any way I can keep their kids engaged for a full hour, but my response is to pick the package based on the number of images you’d like to get back. A mini session comes with 6 carefully, hand-edited digital images and a full hour comes with the first 12 images. Upgrades are available so you can add on more images and you always get high resolution images with a print release. You can also upgrade your package to include an in person selection process, but I usually encourage clients to just get more pictures and tell me what you are hoping for more of. I will then pick the very best images based on your instructions.
I typically only spend the first 15-20 minutes on posed pictures, so don’t worry about attention spans. The rest of the time is capturing lifestyle moments as you play and explore. Those are usually my favorite shots as we are getting the truest of smiles.
And that, I think, is the real difference between a mini session and a full hour session. A mini session tends to get you six great posed pictures while an hour gets you some traditional poses along with a handful of fun lifestyle captures.
We can mix things up any way you like, but keep in mind that the little ones are usually ultimately in charge. 😉
One thing my clients can count on is that if they change their mind and want more images, there are almost always enough fantastic captures to upgrade to at least another 6 images that I’m confident you will love. I will still be picking those out, but I’m completely open to hearing what poses and people combinations you’d like more of.
Enjoy the always bright and colorful Wesch Family!
