With the morning temperatures becoming too chilly for little kids, I’m now forced to battle it out with dinner time or work with the less optimal light earlier in the afternoon. In the middle of the Summer, this is a problem even with great shade to help avoid the harsh shadows and squinty eyes. The sun is directly over head, which is just the worst possible lighting situation for pictures.
But, in the Fall and Winter, the sun stays closer to the horizon throughout the day and even midday light is workable. After the time change, I’m going to be starting at 3pm for the most beautiful light.
For Maddy and Nora’s session, we were all set to break things up into two mini sessions. Expectations were low for the girls to cooperate and I was worried about the midday light, which was the only time that worked for our combined schedules.
Fortunately, CiCo Park provided just the right amount of shade and depth for us to get great pictures without blowing out too many highlights where the sun poked through the leaves. It was still a little on the chilly side, but the girls both did great and just look at how beautiful it was!
We got lots of great smiles and Mommy and Grandma even got to jump into some pictures!
It was perfect!
