This is Casen.
Casen is 2.
He was not a perfect gentleman.
And he wanted NOTHING to do with pictures.
I’ve had the honor of taking this little dude’s pictures on several occasions
and fortunately, his mom is really mellow and totally trusts me.
It was no picnic, but we have come away with some awesome pictures every time!
Unfortunately, his mom wasn’t in these pictures and Casen wasn’t really playing nice with Grammy and Grampy.
Okay, so sometimes “not nice” is still super sweet. Awwwww.
(Fortunately, this photo session wasn’t really focused on this little stinker, anyhow!
But, we’ll get to the star of the show in just a moment.)
Whatever it takes.
In the case of Casen versus my camera, we tried a long list of things ranging from chase and tickles to flowers and bubbles.
I pulled out the animal noises and gestures and added quite a few steps to my activity tracker.
I could get smiles out of him on his own, but any attempts to get him in a picture with his cousins and grandparents was a disaster.
Catching him in the same frame (forget about the same plane) was laughable.
We tried treats and snack breaks and plenty of games.
I suggested moving to the playground and putting him in a swing. I’ve got loads of practice with swing pictures!
“Casen hates swings.”
What about the slide?
“He hates slides, too.”
“He loves the see saws, though!”
Let’s do it!
Our goals were to get pictures of Grammy and Grampy with the perfect gentlemen
(Casen and big brother, Owen) and also with their adorable cousin, Colton.
It wasn’t how we pictured it, but how fun are these!
By the end of their session, Grammy and Grampy had fully recalled what it was like
to have your hearts AND your hands full. It’s EXHAUSTING!
Now for a big thank you to Owen because he was AWESOME.
While his 2 year old brother was determined to turn this photo session into something
from the Twilight Zone, 3 year old Owen was perfect!
Nice work, big guy!
Cute! Cute! Cute!
Everyone make sure to wish Colton a big happy first birthday come July 29th!
