Dear Smash Cake,
You know you are deliciously sweet and pretty as can be.
Your delicate swirls of pink and white were carefully crafted…the finest sugars through and through!
Yet, when the big moment came, I’m sorry to say, she was just not that into you.
It’s not your fault.
Not all one year olds like messy hands and mouthfuls of sweetness.
And if it makes you feel any better, as your photographer, I have to admit that I would love to have put down my camera and crammed my fists into your delectable innards and please know I wasn’t alone. Her big brother and daddy were sure more than happy to show her what to do, stealing a sample of frosting and wishing for a little more.
I hope you weren’t offended when I suggested pushing a few Cheerios into your top because that ended up being the trick to get some cute pictures of the birthday girl. And for whatever it is worth, I don’t think that Cheerios will ever be the same for me again unless I get to slather them with rich vanilla frosting.
We do what we have to do!
You performed admirably and got the job done.
Always My Best,
We had a heck of a time getting her to attack her cake, but there was no shortage of cute smiles from this little love bug.
Happy First Birthday, Ayzel!
